Big news, friends! I’m launching a new business venture with a colleague in PEI and it’s all about — you guessed it — books.
Visit Fierce Ink Press for full details.
We’re already finalists for The Solution Agency Start Up Challenge (winners will be announced tonight) and will be one of the businesses featured at the Awesome Foundation Ideas Market next week.
I’m not sure what this means for this blog yet but exciting things are to come regardless.

Congrats on the new start up, I like the Fierce shorts idea and the content your going to be publishing looks socially relevant.
Is there a profitable niche for this product though? I’m not trying to knock what your doing, I honestly think its a great idea. Just wondering how you researched your market.
Thanks for the comment and support. We did conduct quite a lot of research in general. In terms of specific niche market, short creative non-fiction is becoming increasingly popular. The National Post has a series, the Amazon Kindle Singles are doing quite well, and there are even publishers who only produce digital shorts (cStories and Found Press come to mind). Of course, there are never any guarantees but we feel confident that this series has the potential to do quite well in the current market. To my mind they’re ideal for public transit commutes, while waiting for appointments, or simply when you don’t want to commit to a full-length book.
