Melinda: Hope you enjoy.

h: I'm definitely not a beer expert by any means but I thought it was tastier than the Bud Lime's and Keith's that are typically served at bars. The stout was my fave overall.

G: That's very misleading then, isn't it? How can they call the place a brewery then? It's more like a really big home-brew operation. At least the wort is coming from the East Coast. I still like the beer but it definitely wasn't as interesting as a Propeller or Granite brewery beer.

Jaime: The menu had me at turkey and avocado too! It was difficult to read anything else after I saw that.

Thanks for this Kimberly! I'm always looking for new places to try out with the girls when my hubby is out of town for long stints. You had me at turkey & avocado. :)

Sadly the beer isn't made onsite, only fermented onsite.

The wort is made in PEI and shipped to the Rock Bottom in bag-in-box format then dumped into the fermenters with some yeast. Sort of like canned soup but they add yeast instead of water. This makes them a 'ferment-on-premise' pub rather than an actual brewpub or brewery. It also means they just get the 'can of soup' with no creativity or variation of selection. Unfortunately the 'can of soup' beer also tastes the part lacking real and bold flavours one expects from a brewery where the products have been crafted from scratch by an artisan.

Nice write up but very boring beer.

Thought the food, decor and service were great. Unfortunately, was very disappointed in the beer. I like mine pretty flavourful, and found the Rock Bottom brews tasted really bland and generic (but maybe they've improved in the last few months?). I wouldn't become a regular, but it would be a great place to take the parents.
