Thanks for stopping by the blog. You live in a beautiful country and those wrought iron gates are gorgeous.

Came across your website..very enjoyable reading, glad you had a good experience in Galway city etc, we ourselves are only a couple of miles from Athenry and build wrought iron gates so you may have seen our gates around the area, some pics on our site.

Shelagh: I definitely agree with you on the other people driving too quickly. We were mostly going 60 in the 80-100 zones because any faster and we were sure we'd get into an accident. Even the coaches and lorries were driving at seemingly breakneck speeds!

Queenie: LOL. Yes, I suppose it makes sense. The six adults in the group kept our public drunkenness to the corner of one pub! No worries about "stab city" warnings. It was just a spot to rest our aching bones at the end of the day but we probably wouldn't go back anytime soon. More on that in the next post though!

It's one pub: 52 people or something close to that. It's the way the licensing laws are done I believe, they were clustered in the old days to prevent rural drunkenness or something like that. I remember reading about when I studied public administration.

Yeees... stab city... you know, I wrote you a really long email all about it and then I discarded it because, you know, it's crap when people tell you stuff like that when you're looking forward to a trip. So sorry if I should have sent it, but as I have never actually met you I didn't know what to do.

My Limerick friends all said it was fine while you were there anyways.

I'm a bit late but I've just caught up on all your holiday posts. Driving in the UK is a bit hairy, the roads are so narrow and folk tend to drive far too quickly.... or at least it seems that way:) So far sounds like a great trip:)
