On being sick

There was supposed to be an inspired blog posting here about something or other. But I’ve discovered that my recall can be greatly hampered by sinus congestion that makes my eyeballs feel like they’re simply going to pop out of my skull. So, instead of something interesting, I’m posting this whiney non-post.

I blame Cokebaby for bringing home the cooties from work. It’s OK. He gave me permission to blame him.

Being home sick together has its downfalls besides having to look at each other in our absolute worst state. If you’ve ever lived with a male SO, I think you’ll know what I mean. If you’re a man, here’s a little something you should probably know about yourself: the flu turns you into babies. Period. End of discussion.

This post would be longer but I hear Cokebaby crying.

UPDATE: Thanks to @spennell for sending a link to this video which I couldn’t for the life of me find due to foggy-brained inability to do a proper search.

I become a recluse when I’m sick. I do not wish to be spoken to, looked at or otherwise addressed.

Being sick and being a mom is dreadful because the kids don’t buy the argument that mama’s took sick to cook their dindins. #stupidkids

Hope you’re feeling better

Ben: OK, so you become a hermit baby. :-)

Gifted: Feeling better each day, thanks. Hopefully there’s another adult in the house to care for you when you’re feeling under the weather..!

I hope you feel better soon! When I am sick, I become this pathetic clingy person who needs both dogs to curl up for as long as I want them too!

Elizabeth: Thanks! Tofu dog is definitely the best medicine. There’s nothing like a snuggly dog to make a person feel better.
