Don’t let the headline fool you. I’m not actually one of those people who thinks of my dog as my kid. I love him dearly but he’s more of a permanent roommate.
That said, there are definitely moments in our living together where he seems almost human. Like the time he wiped out down the stairs at a friend’s place and scared himself silly.

Heard Ceeb segment on animal law yesterday.
I’m all for treating animals well but not so sure they have the same rights as humans, even if humans treat them like kids.
If only my cat would treat me like a human! Blogged on her today.
Gifted: Agreed. I think there’s a huge difference between treating our pets humanely and treating them like humans. Baby strollers for your pet kind of crosses the line for me. I read your blog post about poor kitty! We used to have a long-haired cat and the lumps were definitely not lovely.
